Midwest Area Website
The State Pages for the Midwest Area Website were brought online on January 27, 2018. This has taken nearly a year of planning, study (on my part!), and now training and implementation. Thank you to all the states for their patience during this transition. Hopefully, midwestnascoe.org can be a valuable resource for years to come.
In June, the site will renew. As noted in the proposal introduced at last year’s MWA rally, for the first year, we had the benefit of an introductory rate with complimentary domain name registration. To continue with the same plan, with the same number of states participating, it will cost approximately $30.00 / state that buys-in to the websites.
Convention Cash Club Contest (Stipend for First-Time NASCOE Convention Attendees)
The NASCOE Publicity Committee will award a $500 stipend to an eligible NASCOE member from each area to help defray the cost of attending the NASCOE convention in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on August 1 – 4, 2018. Applicants must submit a one-page essay of 500 words or less explaining to the judging panel why they want to attend the convention.

Communications
During the recent Government Shutdowns, the importance of making sure that we can communicate quickly and efficiently with our membership was highlighted. Legislative updates were sent using the following methods:
- blog posts to the NASCOE website,
- posts to the Nascoe News Facebook page,
- emails using the NASCOE communications database with the MailChimp service
- Emails sent from through the Email Communications tree
(Officers to Execs, Execs to State Presidents, State Presidents to members)
Did you receive the emails? Did you see the posts? If you’re on Facebook – have you followed the Nascoe News page? Have you signed up for updates on the NASCOE website?
If you’re not receiving emails, or need to provide an updated address, please contact your state membership chair. On the NASCOE website on the upper right of each page, there is a place where you can sign up to receive an email when a new blog post has been added to the NASCOE website. When a post has been added, you will receive an email instantly. Click on the link above to go to the NASCOE News facebook page and click Like, then follow the instructions to make sure that you see NASCOE News posts first.
